Bella Vita Spa & Boutique - Beauty and The Boutique

Huntington Beach, Orange County Boutique Pique
By: Erin Hall @ Boutiquing

*THIS BOUTIQUE CLOSED
A renaissance of relaxation, Bella Vita in Huntington Beach romanced me with it's grand chandelier entrance, lavish interior, warm glow, luxurious full service spa and beautiful boutique. A perfect new addition to downtown Huntington Beach, owner Nicole has created an opulent oasis combining the best of both the beauty and boutique world inside Bella Vita. Get swept off your feet with the soothing sounds of trickling water and aromatic essential oils floating in air while shopping a banquet of fashion and jewelry finds so grand you won't want to leave.

Declelor, tanning, botox and manicures, I could go on and on about the palatial spa services and beauty enhancing products at Bella Vita, but we're about the shopping so I'm forcing myself to stay focused ;) For the woman looking to command attention in any room, Bella Vita's decadent and dainty array of clothing, swimsuits, lingerie and jewelry can take you straight from day into night. Get swept off your feet with sexy and casual palazzo pants and trousers from Lotta, embellished pocket denim from LA Idol, figure flattering dresses from Aggie and attention grabbing tops from 213 and Linda Segal. Like a scene from Romeo and Juliet, Bella Vita has you covered from romantic to risque.

Beyond the purses, through the candles and over the bracelet bars, I saw what I can only describe as "wearable wattage". The multi layered, chunky yet wearable neckline and wrist adornments radiated through out Bella Vita with bold distinction. After grabbing every style from one particular jewelry designer (imagine a kid in a candy store), I was told she is a local designer, but name unknown...I have decided to refer to her as "DESIRE"! The shiny and sassy creations from Liquid Metal and cocktail rings a plenty had me on an accessory high begging for more.

Where else can you go get your hair done, load up on new eyeshadow colors, have your eyebrows waxed and walk out with a new outfit head to toe all under one roof? Bella Vita leaves nothing to be desired for us women in the arena of pampering and pretty. Stop in just to see the divine decor, experience a service and adorn that body.

Pssst...to all our Beauty Queens and Fashionistas, save this date! Saturday, July 11th, Bella Vita is hosting their "Beauty & The Boutique Grand Opening Party"...so many giveaways, samples and services your heart will skip a beat. More details to come.

OC BOUTIQUE SHOPPING: Beauty Tips from MOM

by: Erin
Interestingly, this whole thing started out as a simple, conversation starting question I asked on Twitter... "What beauty tip did your mom always tell you?" Never did I think so many women would respond but thankfully they did, so I was left with a compilation of touching, smart and comical motherly advice. From age defying remedies to just plain random, there were so many pearls of wisdom I just had to share them...so I am.

Below is a list of responses given by our Boutique Owners, Twitter Followers and Facebook Fans, it's a window into who we are as women and a tribute to the women who helped raise us into the beautiful strong fashion loving beauty queens we are ;)

Laugh, awwwwww, take notes and when you find yourself remembering one of YOUR mom's beauty tips...please leave us a "comment" below so we can all enjoy it...let's keep this one going.

Adania's - Fun and Friendly Fashion Finds

Yorba Linda, Orange County Boutique Pique
By: April Madigan @ Boutiquing

Pulling up to this well situated boutiquing stop, amidst a grocery store and a great breakfast spot, I was instantly inspired by the large courtyard entry leading to the welcoming doorway of Adania's boutique. I thought to myself..."This place must have some great events...perfect location!" And I was right...more on that in a minute:) Boutique experience first...I was in complete boutiquing bliss as I pulled gorgeous clothes off the wall mounted racks and gushed over their unique and vintage chic appeal.

On this particular boutiquing day I had my one year old partner in crime with me...anyone who has ever stroller shopped knows the benefits...place for a coffee and a hook for my bags...this is way better than a sugar daddy! Well. Did I pick the perfect kid friendly boutiquing destination...not only were Adania's styles completely appropriate for my double life, great casual pieces and perfect event dresses...Adania herself could not have been more attentive to both my son and I, her warmth and genuine interest in helping me navigate the store at my own pace and her passion for every piece she stocks endearing...she almost shed a tear over the ivory floral cuff I purchased...but, I assured her it was going to a worthy home.

Other objects I desired were beautiful ladylike coats by Fumblin' Foe, cocktail worthy little colored dresses by Miss Me, casual shorts and blousy tops and a great collection of shoes from an old standby, Chinese Laundry. I also enjoyed playing in the jewelry box, a spiny tree branch decorated with delicate and bold noticeable accessories alike, a great counterpoint to the chunky statement making cuffs on display from Mary Lou's Vintage. Adania takes pride in the range of styles she has in store, and eagerly anticipates matching the right woman with the right piece.

As I mentioned...she has the perfect location to host a great event, and she has a really interesting one coming up. A trunk show and fashion show featuring Mary Lou's Vintage and Chinese Laundry is happening on July 25th. Erin and I attended a Mary Lou's trunk show and trust us...her eye for a vintage find and the way she makes vintage feel and look new are worth saving this date...she is a master. So, don't worry about the babysitter - kids are welcome and will be doted upon...just get there, and be ready for some one of a kind splurges that you may need to explain to the husband... but hey, she offers a discount when you bring back her reuseable shopping bag...just tell him that it is like shopping at the grocery store...bet you he already tuned you out:)

Kovet Boutique - Global Chic in OC

Corona Del Mar Boutique Pique
By: Erin Hall @ Boutiquing

*New Location in San Clemente!

One of the greatest joys of boutiquing is finding a new boutique that takes your breath away. Kovet Boutique in Corona Del Mar, tucked behind Blooms Flower Stand on PCH, is just THAT boutique! Stepping across the threshold I was reminded of a boutique I found in Spain 10 years ago. To this day, I often find myself reminiscing about the clothing of my European travels and the culture rich experience. Kovet gave me THAT grand feeling inside their small square footage. Carved Indian statues, ornate clear vases filled with sand, black iron rod racks, ultra mod chandeliers and textured tapestry curtains create a global shopping experience. Now you don't have to travel hours and over oceans to find a unique world of color, texture, sound, and effortless chic...you can just visit Kovet.

After seeing a lot of the same labels, I was thrilled to see new memorable lines such as TA Collection and Holly G. Kovet's clothing is noticeably different with minor twists, ruffles and cuts that make other wise bland basics rare and special. The owner Janelle travels and sources her line from Europe with one main goal, trendy fashion at reasonable prices. Kovet is also loaded with shoes, necklaces, earrings, belts, body care products and more. Nothing in Kovet is over $200 and with all the unique merchandise your guaranteed a look that will solicit the boutiquing badge of approval statement - "Where did you get that!"

A variety of styles are available at Kovet. Whether your personal style is laid back, minimal, eclectic or feminine, Kovet has a fresh mix of options. Casual Murmur linen pants and tops, Love Tree tank dresses and basics from Monrow are timeless staples. Kovet's signature line KO had my funky fashion wheels turning with silk dip dyed tanks and brilliantly bold colors. If you're anything like me, expect to do 4 or 5 rounds through this boutique because there's something to grab your attention everywhere...boutiquing ADHD...I don't want a cure!

Tanya B. - Sexy Staples Dressed Up or Down

Yorba Linda, Orange County Boutique Pique
By: April Madigan @ Boutiquing

Like a shiny mirror ball just waiting for it's moment in the spotlight, Tanya B. boutique stands ready to dazzle any woman who walks through the door. This boutique occupies an unassuming spot in a busy shopping center, but one step inside and I am instantly filled with memories of an opulent hotel stay in Italy. Chandeliers glow romantically overhead and archways are filled with color and shine. Among the many racks of attention grabbing clothing in color and print, is a versatile collection of shoes and two glass cases of serious statement jewelry.

Lucky for me, Leanne was on duty during my visit. A vivacious energy pulsed through the store as she highlighted the best of the best Tanya B. had to offer. I found myself enamored with larger than life one of a kind jewelry that would light up an outfit. A well edited selection of supple leather bags by Tylie Malibu are also on display, perfect paired with jeans or a dress for a bit of basic bling. I spotted flattering Pink Polka Dot dresses and Twisted Heart tanks, standout Sky tops, and denim bottoms in absolutely EVERY length. I stood amazed at the assortment of shorts from barely there to knee grazing...somehow I think every length may be a necessity:)

It is evident that Tanya B. has established itself as THE place for sexy style making separates and all the "icing" to go with them. A denim devotee's dream (they stock True Religion, Frankie B., Current/Elliot, J Brand, Rock Revival, and Tag), this popular Yorba Linda boutique truly understands how to stand out in a crowd.

OC BOUTIQUE SHOPPING: Bellabacci - Laguna Beach

Bellabacci Boutique - An Accessory to Love!

Review by: Erin

Bellabacci means "Beautiful Kisses" in Italian, and whether you speak the language or not, you'll feel the jewelry love overflowing in this Laguna Beach Boutique. Don't come looking for subtle or dainty, Bellabacci is home to the strikingly bold and brilliant world of rings, headbands, handbags, necklaces, bracelets and earrings! From watches to clothing, the amount of inventory that moves through Bellabacci is shocking when you see how small the store is, but don't let the small size fool you ;) Coupled with an international website, Bellabacci is the number one retailer for a majority of their famous designer lines. What does this mean for you...stop by frequently because 1 - they are the first to get the newest styles, often before any other boutique, and 2 - they sell out quickly!

Looking to stand out in the fashion landscape? Bellabacci is known for their super abundance of rebelliously romantic and ornate glittery inventions from the creative mind of Tarina Tarantino. Be sure to find jewelry, accessories and handbags from the flamboyant mistress of the fashion, Betsy Johnson. Betsey Johnson's ability to combine the outrageous with frilly femininity mixed with Bellabacci's numerous choices will no doubt have you playing adult "dress up".

A recent jewelry love of fashion magazines like ELLE, Lucky, InStyle and Vanity Fair, Elizabeth Cole signature pieces are "meant to inspire the golden tigress within". With gold chains, charms, antique zodiac and money coin combinations... I feel in love with this jewelry line, perfect for wearing individually or layering.

One of the "perks" of boutiquing (something you rarely find in chain retail locations), is you get to hear straight from the owner the intricate details of each line and interesting info about the designers. Owners Frank and Kelly Mancini have an eye for picking the hottest designs and love to share the experience with their clients. Bellabacci also carries Steve Madden handbags and clutches, Spanx under garments, Rachel Weissman silk scarf head bands, Custo Barcelona and Ed Hardy.

Scoop from: Erin
Ever since I read April's review for On Que Style in Corona Del Mar, I've been dying to see for myself all things dangerous....
designer... and discounted!

Delightfully so, On Que Style is the immaculate showroom for slightly worn designer pieces from the clients of stylist Kirsten Prosser. Although I could hardly tell a majority of the pieces had ever been worn, I did notice their prices were amazingly do-able for current designer trends. Snake skin Christian Louboutin ankle boots, a bold black Jimmy Choo wristlet clutch and metallic rock meshed metal statement necklace from Oscar de la Renta were just a few of the delicious finds that had me gasping for air and saying "LOVVVVVVVE" out loud!

Well don't I have perfect timing! Eddie Prosser (Kirsten's husband and co-owner of On Que Style), dished the most delightful party details and it's happening tomorrow!

Holly Sharp Boutique - Comfortably Cute

New Corona Del Mar Boutique Review
by: Erin
@ Boutiqiung.com

One thing you can always count on from Holly Sharp Boutique in Corona Del Mar is consistent style. Walking in the door, you'll instantly notice bright bold punches of color in this crisp and comfortably cute boutique. Regardless what your style personality may be, if you love dresses, Holly Sharp is your boutique! Ruffles, ropes, long, short, floral, solid, tank, tube, cocktail, casual... you'll find a universe of styles, cuts and colors from Lucy Love Beach Couture, Pink Polka Dot and Susana Monaco.

Holly Sharp is loaded with adorable outfit alternatives to denim. Looking for some ideas? Find chic linen capris, flirty cuffed short shorts and edgy mini skirts - for some serious sexy, just add tank and heels! Don't be shocked to see half a dozen pieces prices under $50 then something for $160, Holly Sharp has made it possible for all budgets to create a personalized look.

Whether your chic, urban, boho or girlie...Holly Sharp has jewelry and accessories for you! Butterfly cameo and pearl, long chain pendants and delicate initial charm necklaces just scream to be layered. Fringe chain earrings, leather and metal bracelets and over-sized cocktail rings are sure to grab your attention. Lately, I've been obsessed with belts, and I don't discriminate ...skinny, wide, studded, shiny, corset, vintage, snap, buckle, you name it and Holly Sharp can "Belt" it out!

Trust me, after looking at all the clothes and jewelry at Holly Sharp, you'll get lost in a world of gorgeous painted tin and decorated glass candles. Like mini pieces of art, I couldn't stop admiring the vibrant color palettes and ornate designs as I sniffed my way through all the
unique scents. Check out the vintage paper wrapped soaps, they're perfect for a small thank you or memorable addition to any birthday present.

Three words to describe the customer service I got from Ashley at Holly Sharp...happy, attentive and dedicated. When you get genuine, quality service from an employee like this, it makes you want to buy something just to say "Thanks, you made boutiquing SO much fun!" ...What's that seductively tropical scent lingering in the air??...Oh, that would be my "Tahitian" scented Pacifica candle from Holly Sharp ;)

What to Wear- Boutique Shopping in Orange County

Successful boutique shopping as you know, is a sport...the number one rule - be dressed appropriately! Introducing Boutiquing.com's new "What to Wear & Where to Get It" feature...where we will demystify typical invitation attire lingo...ie; festive attire suggested or dress to impress...and offer practical and stylish inspiration for the most confounding style situations.

Not only will we suggest great pieces...we will tell you which boutiques in Orange County have these items in stock...I know, I know...we love you too! Have somewhere to go...don't know what to wear? Leave us a comment and we will create your look!

What to Wear - Boutique Shopping in Orange County

The first What to Wear addresses the issue of what to wear for a fab day of boutique shopping! Start with a great comfy oxford shirt that is easy on and off in the fitting room. Pair the shirt with skinny distressed denim to offset the preppiness of the shirt. I am a big fan of unexpected accessorizing, and a great flower cocktail ring in a bold color adds a bit of whimsy to a basic look. The fringe bag is not only totally of the moment...it can be worn across the body and leaves both hands free for digging through the sale rack! The final touch, a great pair of shades...boutique shopping IS an outdoor sport:) Love 'em or hate 'em...Ray Ban Wayfarers are here to stay!

Clockwise from top:

Upside Down Boutique - Change Your Fashion Perspective

Laguna Beach, Orange County Boutique Pique
By: April Madigan @ Boutiquing

At this point in my boutiquing career, I have seen and shopped it all. Imagine my surprise when everything I thought I knew about boutiquing was literally turned upside down. The Upside Down boutique in Laguna Beach is truly a sight to see. Trees grow out of the ceiling, a cowhide area rug hangs like a canopy overhead, and birdcages filled with baubles instead of birds swing inverted from above. That's right, the entire landscape of this brave boutique is upside down.

Surely all who enter this wonderland fit for fiction are pulled in by the quirky cool vibe, but I guarantee they stay because of the goods. Most of the lines carried here are European, which translated means obscure and pleasantly playful. The looks here are Diesel meets Harajuku with a bit of the most wearable clean lined utilitarian style Europe is admired for. Odd Molly floral dresses and tops and Susan Tucker vests adorned with crafty felt flowers and foliage share space with layered cotton dresses, hoodies and tees by Skunk Funk (silly name...but seriously...cool pieces). The nod to European chic starts bobblehead bobbing when I hit the rack of Cop Copine pieces that make me swoon. These are serious Kate Moss style makers, and the selection here will make you flip:)

There are no mainstream trends in sight, however I would venture to guess, the next top ten trends will be inspired by these looks. Toward the back (near the upside fireplace, naturally) is a 50% off rack where we found the most inspiring skirt seen in a while. It's shape; like a cocoon of navy blue silk that hugs the body in the most creative way. Erin snagged the skirt and we practically stood on our heads when we found out it was only $50! Of course as we were checking out my wandering eyes spotted sparkle...bold Avant Garde chain necklaces were perched in birdcages along side the counter, gotta say, this Paris based line really makes my heart sing!

Our boutiquing recommendation, hit the Koffee Klatch for a great indie cup of coffee (they share a Secret Garden like patio with the store), and then head over to Upside Down for the most unique boutique experience in Laguna.
